Seminar Topic: Building the National Research Foundation
Presenter: Robert Kriger is currently the Executive Director of Special Projects at the National Research Foundation (NRF). He has been with the NRF since its inception and launch in 1999 and served in various capacities including Head and later Executive Director of International Relations and Cooperation, Manager and later Director in the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.

This seminar, will present findings regarding the ‘building of the NRF’ based on available documentation from the various review processes initiated by the then Department of Arts, Culture, Science & Technology (DACST); on task team reports in preparation of the merger between the Foundation of Research Development and the Centre for Science Development (CSD); on the strategic planning processes, plans and implemented funding programmes and instruments; on minutes of the NRF Board, the Corporate and Executive bodies; reports of institutional and programme reviews and evaluations, and on interviews with a range of key individuals within the National System of Innovation (NSI).
This is the second seminar in a series of three seminars and a two-day workshop on the history of the NRF.
