Between January 20 and 21, 2011, the SARChI Chair in Research on Innovation, Tshwane University of Technology, would organise a two-day workshop on the theme "Challenges of Making Innovation Systems in Africa" at the university. In addition, PhD candidates working under SARChI are encouraged to make presentations at the workshop. The presentations are expected to deal with various areas of research that border on innovation studies as well as in their areas of specialisation.
Apart from academics based in universities, other stakeholders in innovation studies who work in organisations such as the Africa Institute of South Africa, Human Sciences Research Council, the AU and NEPAD are encouraged to attend.
In order to participate in the workshop, external participants working outside the framework of SARChI must submit abstracts by November 20, 2010. Full-length papers are expected by January 15, 2011. After the workshop, selected papers would be submitted to publishers for publication under the editorship of Mammo Muchie and Sanya Osha.
